Tuesday, August 30, 2016 @ 9am (Registration & Breakfast from 9-10am) When does registration open All participants will be able to register on this site for the Symposium NOW! When is the last day a participant can register? ALL participants must be registered by Friday, August 26, 2016. Why are we doing this? To show that educating to counter oppression and multi-religious practice re: festive, joy-filled and exuberant. Who is invited? Everyone. I'm a new Low-Residence student and I'd like to know when is the suggested arrival ? If you're taking additional intensive courses, or participating in any other summer events prior to the Symposium that would determine your time of arrival. What is the cost for participating in Symposium? Please go to the Registration* Tab for drop down that represents your registration type: 1. SKSM Degree Students Registration* (Current, New or Entering): Based on New Tuition model. 2. SKSM Certificate Students Full Registration* and "Special Students" taking Symposium for credit. Please note: Certificate and Special Students have a Discounted Fee of $528.75, this fee will be manually updated from the regular full course fee (based on the New Tuition model). * Financial and Housing assistance requests for SKSM Students ONLY must be completed by Sunday, July 31, 2016 (Please see information on Registration Page) * Students who have completed the academic requirement of attending 2 Symposiado notneed to enroll for academic credit, however, if you wish to attend you will need to register under the Community Member - General Public Registration Fee of $125.00 3. Community Member - General Public Registration Fee $125.00* Registration fees include: • Admission to all Symposium sessions • All meals included 4. Staff, Trustee, Faculty, and Graduates Registration* * Everyone is required to complete the Registration Form, so we can prepare for your participation and address any special needs. All students please remember to ENROLL for the Symposium as a course NOW to obtain course credit (Summer Enrollment is OPEN). Are there course requirements for students? Yes, please go to the Program Schedule Tab then select "Course Requirements" from the drop down. Do I need to pre-register? Yes, so we can plan for your participation. Does everyone have to register to attend the Symposium? Yes, registration is required for ALL participants. How do I register? Registration is available on this site by completing the required form under the Registration Tab (select your category of registration by using the drop down). Will I receive a registration packet in the mail? No, your registration materials will be provided at the Registration table. How do I enroll as a prospective, current or certificate student? Go to the Registration section of this site, also please remember to follow the normal processes of enrolling for the Symposium as a course through the sksm.edu website, Summer Enrollment is OPEN. Is there Reserved or Assigned seating? There is only reserved seating for our handicapped and Special Guests. Will there be handicapped seating available? Yes, handicapped seating is available (please indicate special need on registration form). Will assistance for deaf participants be available? Yes, assistance is provided (please indicate special needs on registration form). Is there a cancellation, refund or change policy? All registrations are final. Is there financial assistance for low residency students? Yes, financial assistance is provided under the Personal Growth & Learning Request, students may request personal growth and learning funds to assist with the cost of this specific learning experience. (Go to http://www.sksm.edu/resources/student-forms/ to obtain, complete and get submission info for the Personal Growth and Learning grant). Online giving is available on the SKSM.EDU website or by clicking this link (put "Symposium" in the comments section). Can I volunteer? Yes, ALL new and currently enrolled students must work at least ONE work shift before or during Symposium. Additionally, all staff and core faculty are encouraged to volunteer. The request to work “one work shift” is unclear to me. Does that mean I should arrive a day or so early or stay a day or so late? No, working 1 shift (or more if you like) is a requirement of the course. However, it applies only to Symposium Days and you can arrive as indicated above to satisfy this request. How can I get lodging (Home Hospitality) for Symposium? Home Hospitality will be provided for low residence SKSM Students ONLY. Please complete the Survey Monkey link located on the Degree Student, Certificate and Special Student Registration pages for your lodging needs so we can assist with making accommodations. All requests for Home Hospitality are due by Sunday, July 31, 2016. Is public transportation available to Symposium? Yes, public transportation (via BART) or AC Transit is accessible. What airport is closest to the Symposium? Oakland International Airport (OAK). However, flying into San Francisco International Airport (SFO) may be cheaper. Do you have any hotel recommendations?
